Shipping is booked!

Hi backers!

We are happy to confirm this project is now booked to set sail from China on February 3rd!

Arrival into port is estimated for March 2nd and from there the games will take a couple of weeks to clear customs and be shipped to our warehouses. All being well, fulfilment should be able to begin before the end of March, in time to meet our most recent Q1 estimate.

We're sorry it has taken much longer than expected to reach this stage, but thank you for your patience while we worked furiously behind the scenes to make it happen during these very difficult times. 

Back in June 2021 we posted an update where we asked if any of you would be willing to make an additional voluntary contribution towards shipping costs. When we initially planned this Kickstarter campaign we had budgeted for sailing costs comparable to our previous campaign - around £4,000. This time, the cost is £40,000 for the same volume of cargo - TEN TIMES the cost!

You responded very generously and we have not forgotten that. However, we're happy to say we are going to be covering this cost ourselves without any further contributions from our backers. This is only possible due to your continued support, so we wanted to thank you for continuing to play our games, and for spreading the word in person, online, and across social media.

The production stage is complete!

Backers,

Thank you for your patience since our last update.

As you know our production run was delayed due to the Chinese government's order to suspend factory operations to reduce the strain on the region's power system. This meant our factory could only operate for 1 or 2 days per week!

We're relieved to say that, in spite of these problems, the production stage of our campaign is complete. We've received the final samples too and we're really pleased with how they've turned out.

That just leaves shipping. We are now liaising with our shipping partners to get a vessel from China and once we've confirmed the details we'll update you again with a more accurate timeline. For now we are still on track for delivery in Q1 of 2022.

We hope you and your families stay safe this holiday season.

Escape the Dark Sector has won another award - Best Indie Game at the Tabletop Gaming Magazine Awards 2021!

This is in addition to winning Best Dice Game 2021 (Judge's Award) and Best Dice Game 2021 (People's Choice Award) at UK Games Expo earlier in the year.  

We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who voted and/or supported us in the creation of the game. This one is for you.  

Worth the wait
While we know the shipping delays outlined in our last update are disappointing for everyone, perhaps you can take some comfort in the fact that what you're waiting for is now part of a multi-award-winning series and very much 'worth the wait'.

Shipping Update - More Problems in China

Dear Backers,

As you may be aware from other projects here on Kickstarter, China has asked many of its major manufacturing hubs to curb power use by suspending operations to reduce the strain the region's power system.  

The curbs have expanded to more than 16 provinces especially in the south of China, including Shanghai where our factory is located, meaning they can now only work one or two days a week on average. 

As you can imagine, this means lots of orders will be delayed due to the short working time, and our order is unfortunately included in that. 

However, because we started production weeks ago and our order is already about 70% done (it was expected to be finished around now) our factory thinks they can finish the work by the end of November despite these issues. 

I think a lot of others will have it worse, but even for us, when you combine this new delay with the existing shipping crisis, it means we are unlikely to get the goods landed in our fulfilment hubs in Q4, and it is now more likely to be early next year. 

As such, we have no choice but to update the delivery estimate to Q1 2022 as we want to continue to be realistic with you. 

It seems that one crisis after another is hitting our industry at the moment. We're confident we can weather the storm, so please bear with us. There is frankly nothing we can do. 

As ever, when we get solid and accurate news like this to share, we'll keep you posted.
